I just wanted to ask if your final internal assessment mark, sent from your school to the board, is less than 45 out of 50, does that eliminate the possibility of getting a band 6 in that subject?

Thank you

ok, so then does that mean the absolute minimum internal mark for a band 6 would be 40?

thank you

No, the process is a lot more complicated than that.

not really. example: if you get 30 in internal and 50 in external you still get a band 6.

ok, if you don't mind can you explain how something like that would work?
your school really should have already explained this to the year 12's just so everyone's familiar with how everything works :S

edit: sorry realised this sounded a bit bitchy, didn't mean it to come off that way :)

(I assume you know all the process that uses the highest/lowest mark in external to determine the highest/lowest mark in internal) So after all the moderating and scaling, (internal + external) / 2. Assume that you get 100 in external, in order to get a band 6 you need 80+ in internal to get a band 6. simple ;]
