So is it better to be ranked near the bottom of a really smart school than near the top of a "dumb" school???The assesments are scaled to the schools performance in the exams aren't they???????
It theoretically makes no difference. However you get the influence of a good school to study harder, better teachers etc.

no that's crap.
If you're at a shit school coming first in chemistry you're not going to do as well as a kid at a good school coming first in chemistry.

50% of your UAI is your rank at school - and how good these ranks are in comparison to someone with the same ranks at a different school is based on how YOUR grade, at YOUR school does as a cohort.

The other 50% is just how you go in HSC.

In theory that's correct..but didn't happen!!I just enjoyed the sport and social aspects of school.was hardly ther cos I was in EVERY sports team!(Should get bonus in PDHPE for Pierre De Coubertin award and Spotswoman of the year!)

BUT am I better being LOW in a top 30 school than 3rd in a 500 ranked school?????????????
