Yes. I am also guilty of it myself but for the other way around. I was offered UNSW Main Round but then people (relatives) I know were giving me shit for doing law at UNSW so I was like "Fine I will make you happy and apply to USYD and if I can I will go there." After preferences closed I was like "Stuff what people say. I will go where I want." I wasn't thinking properly back then haha. If I was in the same position again, I would never do it.
