No offence, but I seriously do not understand some parents... its insane their attempt at control. It makes me so grateful for my parents!

Well said.

The first person that I went out with, who my mum (live with her) was aware of was a girl. She was a bitch, and outed me to her school and her friends when I told her. Unfortunately, I met her through my step sister, so that went to hell.

The next relationship was with a guy, and this is how I came out to my mum, and since then, she's known about every relationship I've had, and she seems to pretty good with me going out with people.

here's the big "NO"s during hs (from least important to most important):

1. learning to drive (that's getting my L plates... -______-")
2. getting a job (part time, just for a little bit of extra mula).
3. boys.

i figure, with parents like that, one out of three ain't bad...

here's the big "NO"s during hs (from least important to most important):

1. learning to drive (that's getting my L plates... -______-")
2. getting a job (part time, just for a little bit of extra mula).

rule one is stupid. driving doesn't necessarily stop you from getting killed by cars.

rule two is also stupid. working gives you experience is a social setting, learning valuable communication skills blahblahblah...

but that's purely my opinion

Dw, it's not just Asian parents. I'm Greek and my mum flips out the thought of me having a boyfriend. Which I do, and decline to inform her about. She just assumes we're good friends and nothing more (which is cool with me ). It's all blah blah blah, focus on studies, blah blah blah. Which I do; not being with him would be a bigger distraction, I can assure you of that.

I'm so greatful for the parents i've got, they pretty much let me make my own decisions but step in when they think necessary and talk about it.

I'm learning to drive, had a job, and have had girlfriends.

They have to realise that sheltering you will only hinder you in the long run.

From an Asian parent's point of view, anything that takes up any time at all during the HSC year is a no-no.

But that would include Extension 1 English class...

And they still make me go

And i know they're doing it because they think that it would be best for me... but... from my PoV it really doesn't feel like it. *sigh*
