i assume this is for legal studies...

from the top of my head:

1) human rights are inalienable rights to which all people are entitled to simply because they are humans. Equality is treating all people the same and thus the notion of human rights cannot exist without intrinsically incorporating the concept of equality.

2) the notion of human rights has been around since the 13th Century with the signing of the Magna Carter. Internationally, human rights has been recognised through the abolition of slavery beginning in the 19th century, trade unionism and universal suffrage and education. However, it has been the formation of the United Nations which has propelled the concept of international human rights. since the Universal declaration of human rights in 1948, there have been major development in human rights throughout different spectrums, from civil and polictical, economic, social, cultural, environmental and peace rights...

I know its not very substantial, but i hope it helps.
