I've chosen these subjects for my semester 1:

  • 1131 - Mathematics 1A
  • 1131 - Higher Physics 1A
  • 1917 - Higher Computing
  • Engg1000
I was wondering If anyone knows how I could start studying now because I basically forgot everything from HSC and might as well not have done it. Also I heard they teach new concepts quickly.

Don't worry about starting now, first year is pretty easy and most of the useful things you learn in the HSC will be covered in a couple weeks at the beginning anyway.

HSC
N/A
Math1131: Go over 3u basics briefly, if you did 4 unit revise complex numbers, first few weeks will be on them
Phys1131: Maybe brush up on that calculus
Comp1917: Start programming in C, so you have a head start
Engg1000: Bludge subject lol

back then and now i havent found a suitable standalone C compiler for the windows platform.
students who needed to work from home on Windows needed to connect remotely to CSE via PuTTY.
not that im a computer science student.

Agreed with All.
ENGG1000 - lol as well, how easy it was to get a high grade in that.

Mathematics 1A - Circle geometry isn't covered

Higher Physics 1A -

Preliminary:
The World communicates (not the optics)
Moving About

HSC:
Space (except relativity)

Topics with closest resemblence to the HSC.

I'm starting this year too, and I've forgot everything as well XD I think it'd be best to revise a little bit on
Maths: calculus, particularly integral techniques and applications
Physics: electricity, perhaps?
Comp: get a book/e-book on C and chew through the first chapter...
Engg: Don't know, I'm a bit afraid of it...

Aything with electricity isn't in Physics 1A at all, it was removed as of 2008.
Major topics in 1A are Mechanics, Thermal Physics and Waves (not electromagnetic).
Electricity and magnetism is covered in Physics/Higher Physics 1B which is offered in Session 2 and Summer, and is compulsory only to Electrical, Telecommunications, Computer, Renewable Engineering and the like.
Physics requires calculus, quite a fair bit too.
