it would be so much easier to just open the case up
SD and DDR slots are completely different!

a way is to find out the model of the motherboard that computer is using, i'm not sure what software can do that hmmm

sorry if i sound dumb as i am not computer l337, but can you simply change this 'slot' where you put the RAM?..my brother has a spare 512 SD RAM and i don't want it to go to waste..

oh, and i just found out i have DDR..

no you can't

SD and DDR has completely different slot and this cannot be changed

yeh thats right you cant change the slots because that would stuff the motherboard

I'm interested as well. For something that is brand new, you can expect about $200ish on the retail market, depending on whether its PC133 or PC100, brand, etc.

Are you sure? $200 seems quite a lot for something that isnt even ddr. Check the recent sales on ebay or overclockers.com.au. Generic Pc3200 sells around there.

I did say retail price for a brand new one :)

SDRAM isn't as cheap as it used to be anymore.

Nope....its still DDR. "SD" is just a name given to the technology used on the RAM. DDR is just a shorthand for DDR SDRAM. They're the same thing.
