So, how do you prepare for Area of Study examination? The examination I am talking about is the one where you get an essay question and you have to write about your prescribed texts and texts of your own choosing. The essay question is unknown.

Am I supposed to:

1) write notes on each text and try to memorise them
2) get a hold of sample essay questions and then try to write four different essays on each question and then memorise the essays
3) write a general essay and memorise that, and then try to adapt it to the essay question they give
4) Form links between the texts and then memorise them
5) Just memorise quotes from the texts.

I'm clueless. What do I do?

There is no set method of "how to study for English."

I just learn my quotes and have an opinion.

Am highly against memorising essays though

edit: do whatever works. If cramming, choose 4 & 5. If not, perfect at least 1 essay on any essay type question.

Learn to write the following: feature article, personal response, can't think of others.
