Everyone seems to be doing stories or critical analyses, where are all my fellow poets?

no but I hate it when people ask why you're doing poetry. I dont want to reply to them sounding incredibly arrogant and tell them its because I think i'm good at it and I like it. grrr why do they need to question!

I KNOW!

I get things like:

"well..........are you sure you don't want to do something more...."

or

"sounds easy as...i s'pose ur doin it so ya don't have to write pages and pages of stuf....hey"



or

"oh....well you know if you don't get a good examiner....."

"Well...it's a very interpretive medium..."

and even -

"yeah.....don't they mark that down because..."

and

"well that'll be heaps easy - just write some metaphoric crap that they won't understand + i bet they'll give ya heaps good marks..."

Yeah thanks for the support guys....

and if u reply with something like "well i think it's my strength" they give you a "look" like....."well know - isn't she quite the 'literate' one..."

which sends me into a spasm of rolling eyeballs...

I'm doing it!! yay..lol well it was a yay but the work load at the moment is a bit stressful. any ideas on relating it to your other studies of english?

2muchwork - depends on what you are doing. You can relate pretty much anything back to the other studies of english....
