Does anyone know how many places are available for Medicine and Medical Sciences respectively for 2006 in UNSW?
I will hedge bet at around 100 for medicine, 150 for medical science.
And you can't do Medicine in UNSW through GAMSAT, right?

I'm not sure if there is a graduate medicine program at UNSW.

2005 med intake was ~180 locals + ~60 internationals, only undergraduate... no idea about med sci

Word is they are letting 400 into UNSW medicine next year. Hasn't been confirmed but a friend says she learned this from "a reliable source"

The Med faculty isn't that big if they could support 400 first-year students they will.

The 400 figure is from the combination of first and second year, cause they do everything together in the new med course.

And i think the total intake is about 220, including internationals.

if the school over intakes..
then they usually over fail for the 1st yr (apparently it can help set a higher standard).. or there is difficulty sustaining those numbers for the clinical yrs.. as training hospitals for yr 4-6 dun lik exceeding tutor:student ratios..

then they withdraw their clinicians tat do teaching.. and u get a worse shortage.

but 400 for 1st + 2nd sounds more realistic

combined 1st + 2nd year this year at unsw was about 450. I can't see them going much bigger in a single year group than the 240 we had in 1st year this year, hospital placing is pretty stretched.

No graduate program at UNSW, so no entry by GAMSAT.

400 is nearly 200 higher than every other med school, so no to that too.
