how hard are the stat subjects? (1 Viewer)

okay, i somehow scraped a band 5 in 3u math last year.

considering this, would doing STAT 170 , STAT 171 or MATH 135 be a bit of a struggle to pass?

from flyin and majesty, MATH135 isn't "so hard"

its only 4u topic...

i guess u got e3+
u have the potential to get a credit (and beyond)

as for me...

i'm gonna try and hack into the comp or something..

Probably not. STAT170 is fairly easy as long as u do all the assessment taks. You should be alright.

You won't be doing STAT171, unless you're suicidal and want to stuff up your GPA.

stat170 is piece of cake, same questions in exams every year, just different numbers. So keep practising with past exams..and you'll be fine!

clairegirl - if you find it hard, there is an option to do the course over 1 whole year, instead of 1 semester. they do the subject slower. this is especially useful for people who have done NO maths for the hsc and need a stat course!

You'll probably only manage a Pass in 171... you'll have more chance in 170 (for Cr, D or HD) especially when you don't need 171.

another thing i've heard is that since i did IPT last year i won't get credit for doing COMP 114 or COMP 115, can anyone confirm this?

cos for COMP 114 and COMP115 u need band5 or over to get into the course

Guys, i did 2u General Maths and i still managed to pass 130 and 135.
So all of you who did 3u/4u should have no problems.
