Say I blocked out all lectures but one for each unit, and all but two tutorials for each unit (B Commerce) based on the current/draft central timetables.
I'm hoping to schedule all my tutorials >4.30pm across the week.
Are these preferences really taken into consideration??

Well I've always gotten all of my preferences for the last 3 years. It might depend on the faculty.

As long as you put in your preferences before the timetables are released I'd imagine you wouldn't too many problems.

Cheers. Are the lecture and tutorial times on the current central timetables accurate, or will they often change/be removed?

They're pretty accurate, occasionally a tutorial may be cancelled if they don't get as many enrolments as they expect, but otherwise it should be fine.
