See for our PERIOD - we have to cover the numerous personalities. two of these personalities in the amenIII->ramII period happen to be personalities of their own!

thats no justification for wasting extra time on doing extra personalities because the depth required for the personality section is way way more than is needed for the historical period and the opportunity cost of pursuing such a course of action is far outweighed by the cost in time that could have been spent on studying the other parts of the course in greater dept.

We are only half way through the fourth option but we have been working constantly flat chat all year and last term of last year, in fact a bit before. We will see who is laughing after the hsc marks come out and I suggest it wont be you.

ok, sorry :( - i didn't mean to make it sound like i think you were stupid or anything!

but yes, i see what you mean. of course I'm not going to study both personalities in tremendous detail! what i mean is we have covered two personalities in class.

and the period actually does require a significant overlap of the personalities.

Hey my ancient comrades,
I'm doing;
Spartan society
Greek world 500-440BC
Roman society (Augustus to Titus)
Xerxes.
The way I study is to write all my notes out on the computer following the syllabus. Then I print it off and highlight important bits and add stuff if I need to. It really works for me but each to his/her own.
Is anybody else finding the Greek world very difficult? The development of Athens into an empire is driving me mad! Anybody feel like they understand it enough to help me out?

if it's not too much trouble, do you think i could possibly have a copy of your greek world notes please? my trial is on monday and i'm really struggling - i'm not sure what i'm supposed to have learnt in this topic ...

my email address is - definitive_moment@hotmail.com

thanks so much :)

I know what you mean about the Greek world, too many names to learn!!

The worst part is my teacher, who has an amazing general knowladge, will stand up there and talk for a whole lesson, but he forgets to tell us which events he is only talking about for bakground and which ones are actually in the period.

I study by making up folders of notes, which i write and decorate by hand as colours and prettiness eems to help me remeber. I use Excel, text books and primary sources to make my notes.
