I'm hoping some of you smart kids out there can help me out. I tried to use SAM (fail!). I would really like to get a UAI estimate for my daughter. Her school was ranked 188th last year.

Her subjects/marks/rankings are

Advanced English 82 81/178
Maths 77 40/107
Earth and Environmental Science 93 2/29
Ancient History 80 14/73
Biology 91 18/148
Religion (1 Unit) 42 22/208

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

..phone up the school and ask them. they will be (or should) be able to give you a much better estimate than people here..

70s-80s?

Thanks everyone for replying. I know you think it's probably lame for a Mum to come online, but she was too afraid to ask at school because so many friends had been disappointed, and she thought she might "drop her bundle" all together if she got bad news. I didn't want to pressure her, so I thougt I'd give this a go. Give parents a break guys - remember we are going through this process with you and it's hard for us too! By the way, she does 2 Unit Maths (not standard). If she knew I was on here she would die, but I have to get the info any way I can. If her UAI is in the 80's, she will be thrilled, so it looks like her hard work is paying off.

From the rank you said last year, i can see that it is my school, i got an esitmate from the careers advisor but i fear he over estimated due to my poor english rank, but still if you call him youd get a better esitmate

Hey lizziesmum, depending on the candidature, she's looking at mid 80s. Ofcourse, considering the actual HSC exams make up 50% of the total aggregate score which is used to calculate the rank-based UAI, it's still very much in the hands of your daughter. But considering she's consistant (as in a slight improvement in the final exam as is expected with most HSC students) she'll safely be in the top 80%.

Also, lizziesmum, would you perhaps be interested in getting to better know a strapping young lad of 21 such as myself? Please do let me know.

Good luck to you and your daughter.
