Well people are getting the honour roll, which is the band 6 one, and the best in the subject lists mixed up.

Honour roll: Mathematics
Mathematics Extension 1
Physics
Chemistry
Engineering Studies

Best in subject list: Mathematics.

well i just call them the longlist and the shortlist
longlist: economics, maths ext1, maths ext2, physics, software design and development.
shortlist: maths ext1, maths ext2, software design and development.

Sometimes it's misconstrued what each term means:

For geniuses (i.e. Laurie), Honour Roll is the list of the top in each subject down to rank 5 10 or 20. The official name for this is actually the "Top Achievers in Course"

For BOS it's the list of everyone who got over 90 in any subject.

Premier's award is for people who scored over 90 (or 45) in 10 units or more. And is awarded at a ceremony with a light lunch (I think). These people are referred to as "All Rounders".

Also made All Rounders list with exactly 10 unit in top band

The $2000 award is the Commonwealth Australian Students prize, awarded to the top 500 students in the country each year.

I got over 90 for Chemistry, German Beginners, Ancient History and Mathematics. I was pretty close for my other two subjects too. I got 88 for both of them!

just a quick question, placings are based on hsc or aligned marks right?(not exam)

yes theyre based on your hsc mark, not your exam mark alone

They're based on raw HSC marks to one decimal place (and not exam marks alone as grimreaper said).

i got on the band 6 honour roll for ancient, modern, ext history, ext I english and extension II english

and i got ranked 6th in the state for ancient history
