My drama teacher is expecting us to have made a decision for what we are doing as our monologue by first day back! Anyone have any suggestions about plays I should go out and borrow! I dont know any good plays or where to start searching! We need to have read at least 10-15 plays and chosen one! Arrrggh! Anyone at all? It will be great help! No suggestions for monlogues needed! Just plays!

why don't you do the ones set for your study?! Including english ones i.e king lear.

Try Miller's - The Crucible (My all time favourite play)
or, Anything by IBSEN
or look at your fav novels... you could do Mr Darcy from P&P or even someone out of history! all depends on where your other passions lie.

Anything by Harold Pinter...but thats only cause I'm a big fan of him...
'Life After George' by Hannie Rayson
A monologue from a Yasmina Reza play would be good.
'Brilliant Lies' and 'Dead White Males' by David Williamson.

I've got a book called the Actor's Book of Contemporary Stage Monologues. Over 100 monologues taken from plays. Good stuff. Try and get your hands on a copy...dunno if its widely available.\]

I remeber doing stuff out of Anna's story for a drug education program our school was doing. Our drama class turned the book into a script. I know its drugs, but if you can look at them and see what to do. I thought they were okay.
