Why do people feel the need to undertake this completely useless subject
You gain nothing from this or any lead for future professions

I understand people might choose this out of personal love and curiosity but still.....you will never use these information in real world context
Unless you want to become an archaeologist - An unfortunate job (When you could earn millions from doing mining instead)

the basic skills taught in history extension of comprehension, understanding, and constructing a clear and nuanced argument is prolly one of the most universally applicable of any subjects. same with english extension. its not about the specific knowledge its about learning a method of thinking

But i guess if you're an immoral bot who'd believe whatever the government tells them and prefers mining, then that's a you problem.

And by the way - I got 100% in my major work, and 48/50 in my trial.

how do you guys approach q1? base essay or just wide knowledge? or is there a specific set of historians you usually use

i have talking points memorised. so like the change in audience, evidence, purpose, form and other things like the democratisation of history and the role of the digital revolution. im going to use herodotus thucydides then bede then von ranke then move into the annuals school and then modernism with carr and elton if i need really contempory ones ill pull from content areas im strong with like califorina gold rush (that was my major work). i think thats the easiest thing to do if you have a good memory

witch hunts in europe made me the biggest feminest until we got to this person called lyndal roper who said it was like the 'holocaust of women' and a 'brutal form of sexual terrosim'. i drew the line there

thank you!! my major work was on the destruction of controversial monuments. Something along the lines of - do historical philosophies impact our perspectives in whether destroying monuments is ethical?

so for q1 a lot of ppl have specific historical schools n historians n their methodologies etc memorised that you whip out regardless of q? does anyone only use specific schools for specific questions or is it not worth it to memorise it and not use it?

i'd say its more worth it to memorise less detail but a lot more historians and stuff so you can end up using stuff that is right for the question, because it's not like english advanced where you can just memorise everything they actually want a sustained answer to the question that isn't all memorised
