usyd laws median atar acceptance is like 99 point something. so not that stupid
yeah, obviously someone with a 99 atar potentially grew up in a normal household. poor people don't care about school so i don't see why that's suprising

adjustment factors dont count for law or medicine, esp not the academic ones as everyone applying would most likely have a few band 6s

better it kept that way. otherwise they gonna have to do shitty us style "holistic" admissions looking for EC's and race etc

i think law even excludes eas points?????? which kinda sounds illegal but i swear i saw that for unsw and usyd
think usyd law can actually include eas points which can drop atar req by placing u into an eas pool? search the forums for something that used to be called the broadway scheme. it's a bit of a mystery

Yk if you band 6 either math or eng you get 5 adjustment factors for usyd
so getting a 91 atar is good enough for law
yeah im pretty sure those band 5/6 extra points dont apply for those super competitive courses like law or med -- the only way I can think you could get into UNSW (not USYD) with less than the requirement is if u ace the LAT (and by that I mean like high 90's)

yeah this yr is the last yr that the LAT counts so any 2026 graduates wont have to do it for entry into UNSW (which personally i think is bad bcs it gives ppl with lower atars a chance), but then again it does make admissions easier!
