Maybe mention how Battered Wife Syndrome (offspring of DV) has become a partial defence in most states of australia to Murder (look up Heather Osland case, its victorian but still good!)
Changes to divorce regulations (no fault divorce, irretrievable(?) breakdown in comparison to having to prove with heaps of evidence that abuse occured to obtain divorce (usually had to meet a number of criteria)
Support groups - Support for abusers and abused.
Look at how the idea of Unita Caro (one body) was broken with the Family Law Act 1975 (im 99% sure) and thus the concept of intermarital rape was introduced
