Ok, a number of us are struggling with stuff that can actually be found on the net.

This thread here is to help ppl in particular problems

Eg, networking, Internet problems, email problems, MAC problems, printer stuff, setup files, application programs, ETC...

So if you have a site, give a simple heading to what area of computers it helps with, and post it up!!! (I don't mind if we have lots of sites covering the same area)

Networking - http://www.practicallynetworked.com/
solutions to all ur networking problems.

www.pcguide.com for information on hardware, old articles but quite useful if you already know a bit about computers (so you can distinguish which parts refer to older stuff)

^ BHO Demon, to get rid of unwanted search bars, et cetera.

^ DOS commands if you ever screw up windows and need to boot into DOS

http://www.driverguide.com/

^ Lost a driver? Best place to find one.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/samplechapters/cnfc/cnfc_por_simw.asp

^ TCP/UDP port assignments (what port does what) for people who network/use firewalls.

http://nyc.speakeasy.net/

^ Optus speed test for checking your broadband connection, and an overseas test that's still worth using if your net bugs out on you

http://messenger.ninemsn.com.au/Status.aspx

^ Messenger service status. When MSN goes down, and you're not sure if it's you or the server.

Also, no one has mentioned it - if you have a problem, search the error message in google, and find people with similar problems and how they fixed it, always a good start anyway.

I hope these help :)
