how does pH relate to hydrogen ion concentration?
explain how carbon dioxide changes the pH

help will be much appreciated.

The higher the hydrogen ion conc. the more acidic it is. This means th ph will be lower. When carbon dioxied dissolves in water it forms carbonic acid, this realeses hydrogen ions lowering teh pH of the solution
