I totally agree with you there. I did the HSC back in 2002, and you'll notice that my notes for Heinemann is up on this website, although these notes are a blatant violation of copyright laws, but don't let that get in the way of you using them. My class basically studied off my notes for the entire time, with bits of the Jacaranda stuff mixed in, and 3/4 of the class (about 20) got a mark of 85 and above, while I got a 92.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, just summarise the textbooks, and try to memorise all the definitions, and you'll be guaranteed at least 85 and above.

What interests me most about this site, since I haven't been here in about 2 years, is why aren't there resources from 2003 onwards up here? Don't people send there notes in anymore?

i think...memorising/cramming is not everything, u must understand the context/famework/background!

But i do agree that HSC is more of a memory test....learn ur work such that u are able to tell some1 who has no clue about the subject....if u cant tell others who are completely unaware of such stuff in ipt.....means u have missed most of the goals....except getting into uni :D

I understood content/context of the subject well, not just memorised it:)

Well, yes, 'just' memorising and cramming isn't everything. But I think it has a rather substantial part. If you can regurgitate the definitions, then you've already passed.

Understanding the course content isn't exactly difficult. Most of it is outdated anyway. My teacher did an IT course back in the 80's, and the majority of that course was identical to the IPT course (the IPT course during '01-'02, not sure if the BOS had the sense to update the course or not after then). I ended up being more knowledgeable than my teacher and had to covertly teach my classmates using my notes, so as not to embarass my teacher.
