ummm...i dont think thats required for hsc. I typed it on wolfram alpha and the answer was root(pi)erfi(x)/2

apparently erfi is some imaginary function???

where did u get this question?

The integral cannot be integrated in terms of elementary functions

I think you mean differentiate...

y' = 2x * e ^ (x ^ 2)
= 2xe^(x^2) <--- for better reading..
