I have these two words in my "To Study" book, and I can't find appropriate definitions. I know they fall in the "Gases, water and waste products" section of the Maintaining a Balance syllabus, but can anyone explain them? Thanks. :)

under enantiostasis section:
halophytes can tolerate high salt concentrations whereas xerophytes cannot so they swim away from the salty region or close shells etc as a way to deal with the change
