I got 3 credits and a pass this semester, but i was only a mark away from getting all credits. Does this mean my chances of transfering to Primary teaching is really low now, cos of that one mark difference?Does UAC look at our GPA or at how many credits and distinctions we got?

UAC looks at ur GPA, not the individual scores
so ur GPA for 2nd semester would be 4.75, and this is combined with ur 1st semester GPA and ur UAI to give u a entrance score

Thanks, so what GPA and UAI do you think i would need to transfer? Do they only allow people with GPA's of 5 and over and people who had UAI's of 80 and over to transfer?

how do you calculate your GPA? I got 2 credits (74, 72) a distinction (77) and two high distinctions (85, 86). what is a distinction average GPA like?

pass = 4

your GPA is: 6.0

to answer the question of how to calculate it...

u have to multiply the number score of ur grade (like evilc said, credit=5, DN=6 etc) by the credit point value of that subject (ie 6 credit points) and add these to all ur other subjects. Then divide this total by the total credit points u took in that year (ie 48 credit points for 8 x 6CP subjects)

ie.. I got 4 HD's, 2 CR, 1 DN and 1 PS and all my subjects were 6 Credit points each.

therefore...4[7*6] + 2[5*6] + [6*6] + [4*6] / 48
= 6.0
