I don't get them! I know when a current is passed through a coil surrounded by a radial magnet in the galvanometer, a force is experienced by the pointer. But that alone is not a good explanation. I would really appreciate any input on this. Cheers! Treat it like a 5 question mark :p

You need to think about the motor effect that occurs when a current carrying conductor is in an external magnetic field.

I'm quite busy now but have a look here.
