umm a good movie probably abit late but was on telly the other day was the Quiz Show. It showed the media buying people to get ratings.

There's a video or something you can get that includes itnerviews with some of the housemates.
You could use articles about the WMD's and Howard's 'knowledge ' (or lack thereof) for a more recent issue, but everyone will be using those so I'd advise against it.
Personally I'm using a Chaser article about the Chinese cover-up of the SARS figures

Hey, if you wanna use Big Brother, there is a Law and Order episode about it, where the producers set shit up.. Dunno if thats gonna help, but it might.

And I'm using a Simpsons episode, was gonna use another satire show (Like CNNNN or the Late Show) but I was thinking I should prolly get a more serious one..

ok ok. im using 3 related..
1 is Wag The Dog. a good movie about a spinner who creates a false war.
1 is "nothing to report" by May Hershal (WorldWar2 poem) .. the entire poem is 3 lines

One minute we were laughn, me and ted
the next, he lay beside me, grinnin dead
"nothin to report" the papers said

so its a quick fix
and the other is "stupid white men" by Michael Moore
