Just another thread for a specific forum.

My Modern Prelim is coming up, and I'm having problems with structuring my essay for this section. My teacher said that we'll be given a quote, and we'll have to assess our personality study and link it with this quote. Say, if we were given:

"Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them."

Would I use a five paragraph structured plan and link the quote to all of the paragraphs that I will write?

First, introduction and link the quote.
Background
Achievements and rise to prominence.
Assessment
Conclusion?

And, should I add historiography?

Cheers

Yes, the quote should be a major theme in your essay. Although you won't be asked about FDR in the HSC (He isn't an HSC personality) there's a good chance you'll have to write about him in some context in the USA National Study.

This section really isn't a biography, tell us everything you know kind of question. We are looking for students to interact with the quote, and yes, top band responses will refer to historians and will quote the individual themselves.
