Has anyone bought/heard this(the new mars volta cd) yet?

I liked at the drive in, dont like sparta, and up until now havent heard much of mars volta, but this album is mind blowing.

Yay! I am very excited about getting this cd! I've been in love with 'The Widow' for ages now, and I havent really heard much else from this cd - if it's anywhere near as good as De-Loused, I will be happy! I heard one song, on jjj.... it was in a different language and it was fabulous (but I cant remember its name, hehe!)

I heard an awesome song on the jjj's...can't remember the name but it was quite a little masterpiece. I too love ATDI and don't mind Sparta

Its most likely The Widow.


I actually dislike that song on the album, seems out of place compared to the others.

I can't believe I spent nearly 60 minutes of my time listening to their album.

I bought their first album but I won't be getting this one. I like progressive rock (King Crimson, Yes, Genesis etc) but even for me The Mars Volta are just too pretentious. Even their song titles are arty and make little sense. It would be nice if they had been a little less ambitious this time and not gone for another concept album complete with a 30 minute song. Also, Cedric Bixler Zapala or whatever the hell his name is has the most annoying voice in history.
