Is forensic science a good course, what do people think of it. And would it be considered a difficult/easy course. Thanks

It's just like any other medical and life science courses but with special emphasis of applying scientific principles in forensics. For example, a B MedSc student in his 3rd year may learn about the pathway of Salmonella in the invasion of host cells via Type III secretion system; a 3rd year forensic science student might learn about analysis of genetic markers from host salivary DNA. A food science student in his 3rd year might learn about the fermentation process using yeast in beer production. Obviously difficulty the course will also depend your own interest and and your general capability in this field.

I hope this helps.

CSU has Forensic Biotech, which you can do as a stand alone undergrad degree, or as a double with MedSc

So when I finish, depending on if I specialise, I'll have BMedSc(Path)/BForensicBiotech

Jobs are fairly limited, but if you're doing Biotech you're going to forcus on the DNA side of things. I do one crime scene subject (just finishing now) and we don't do any scene collection methods or techniques, we just learn about methods. Then in 3rd and 4th year we do DNA techniques and human molecular genetics, that sort of stuff.

If you want to do more hands on field work, I'd probably suggest a BAppliedSc
