there was no car available for test drive though, so i'm gonna go back next weekend (with my dad - he's gonna test drive it for me, i'm not yet confident enough in a manual )

Hm.. I still think you should get to test drive it yourself before you buy the [or any] car though..

Because when I looked at the Civic I thought i was alright, but then I drove it and my opinion on it completely changed...... however, my parents totally liked it and bought it [for themselves].

In the end, you're going to be the one that's going to be driving it in the long term.
