Isnt the fitzpatrick book really really lame with the parametric representation with conics. sure their explainations are good, but the chapters 32 c and 32 d are downright impossible to solve unless you happen to be an insane freak of mathematics. Some are easy, the rest are way way hard. Are there any text books which do the guided method of answering questions for conics like u get in exams, such as

show that:

hence or otherwise, deduce...

cause fitzpatrick doesnt help you at all in that way.

what im after is the more exam type questions with multiple steps. because its realistic for the q's u get in the hsc, it helps you build up confidence in the topic, and it kinda clears up the methods for answering the questions.

does any text book exist which does this?????????????

the Phoenix practice questions by topic is great for these types of questions. All the questions are HSC type questions with multiple steps... They retail for around $37, but if u want one cheap i'm selling 1 for $25 + the Excel 50 HSC tips by Jeff Geha. It has more advanced questions. I'll give it to you for free with the Phoenix book.
