Ok, so i'll be finishing my HSC on Monday (YAY!) and will be looking for a job to kill time and make some money.
I do have university plans and would like something that's flexible.
I dunno how many hours i'd like to work a week but i don't want to tire myself out as i hope to do a double degree at Uni.
I'm very clumsy :hammer: So naturally i would prefer something that requires very little skill, lol.

Any ideas for a first job?
How do i even look/apply for one?

I know i sound like kind of a noob, but i really have no idea :uhoh:

i think most places have finished their christmas hiring.

i started looking for a new job after my HSC but they already all hired so i was stuck with my current job. as soon as uni started one of the places i applied at called me.

i'll tell you places not to work at:

supermarkets (sooo boring. i feel like killing myself and am so sick of seeing stupid soccer mums)
fast food (too many 14 year olds and you'll probably get burnt)

if some supermarket 5 minutes away from your house offered you a job, and a cafe (a proper cafe, not a franchise like gloria jean's or whatever) offers you a job in the CBD, take the CBD job even if you have to travel 1 hour to get to it. more random things happen, it'll be more exciting, you get more variety in your customers.

um. go in and hand in your resume to the manager, apply online at their websites, seek.com.au.

Lots of places are still looking for staff
Just print out a dozen resumes and go to your local shops/local westfield and give it out to places with signs up
Or go to shops you like and ask if they're looking for staff for Christmas
And if they say yes give them your resume

But make sure you give it to managers not just the shop staff

Pretty much what's already been said.

For flexibility, I guess go with places that are open longer hours. Logically, they would be more able to place your shifts around uni times. But flexibility also depends on the managers and whatnot, so it's kind of the luck of the draw
