if a program is deemed to not be feasible, what are the alternatives available to the programmer and project management team?

other than reducing what the program actually does, or coming up with a different solution.....

is there anything else?!

I presume you're talking about the various possible solutions not being feasible.

I doubt they will ask a quesiton in the HSC where none of the solutions are feasible. If they do, then you'd have to explain which aspects of the solution aren't feasible, (technical, schedule, budget, organisational)

In real life, if none of the possible solutions are unfeasible (is that a word?) then you'd either have crappy system developers, or your company's screwed.

Then they'd probably go back to modify the requirements, so that there are less objectives to the system to make it more achieveable, which is what you said.
