i like stuff that is unpredictable, and when main characters die. Or stuff that is just out of the blue and weird.

i cried through most of that movie!! i wanna watch it again... don't get why the critics hated it :p (Pearl Harbor)
Because it was a big Americanised jumble of historically inaccurate action. For once I actually agreed with the critics. The only thing mildly good about that movie was the Pearl attack and the score by the most excellent Hans Zimmer.

1. Lost in Translation
2. The Godfather Part 2
3. Kill Bill/The Godfather Part 1
5. Forrest Gump
6. In the Mood for Love
7. Being John Malcovich
8. Casablanca
9. Fargo
10. American Beauty

Honourable Mentions in no order...i.e. movies that i like

West Side Story, Cruel Intentions, A Few Good Men, Mystic River, Goodfellas, Platoon, Ghost World, Fist of Legend, The Deer Hunter, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Schindler's List, Shawshank Redemption, Taxi Driver, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the old one, not the BS new one), It's A Wonderful Life, Wag The Dog, Leaving Las Vegas, Magnolia, Gattaca, Finding Nemo, Shrek, Toy Story 1+2, A Bug's Life, Antz, Cowboy Bebop The Movie, Sleepy Hollow, The Shining, Ed Wood, Dead Poet's Society, Solaris, Amelie... damn this list will never end

Rather, movies I've seen which I dislike passionately: Ying Xiong, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, LoTR to some extent (only because it's overrated), some Jim Carrey movies, some Adam Sandler movies and Lawrence of Arabia.. that's fairly comprehensive I think
