Yeah, there was a desk where you could join up at enrolment.

You get an older student in the course that you're studying to talk to tomorrow and show you around (hopefully). I think I may have gotten a dodgy mentor... because he doesn't have a photo up and I just hope that wasn't a reflection of his dedication to this mentoring thing!

Sounds alright except for the part you mentioned. There many who probably are in it with this "cant-be-stuffed" attitude. I think the general tour would be enough for me. =P

Well I'm Commerce / Law and I'm going. :p Nothing stopping you really. And well... free food! What kind of self respecting person can you be if that doesn't make you want to go? :)

The letter from the mentor?

It just has your mentor name, group number, and just some random information you probably know anyway.

I hope you found your mentor today. :)

sarevok - You didn't miss much, nothing you won't be able to pick up yourself anyway. Some important points: check Blackboard regularly, keep the course outlines that you'll get in your first lectures... hmmm... I can't really remember much else. :)

Heheh I was in group 21. :) Twas a lot of walking... and getting lost. After about the first 10 minutes I kinda stopped listening to my mentor: "And over there is... er... oh wait, that other mentor is explaining! Quick listen to her!" :p

Nope, but I did see the dressed version a while afterwards. :) I wasn't completely sure whether it was male or female however, could you clarify? :p

Check Blackboard and keep your unit of study outlines - like Lainee said.

Expect to be spoken to like a kindergardener from the Librarian and DO NOT visit her unless you are really desperate.

Feel sorry for the kid with the monobrow that got laughed at, poor sod.

BALANCE your time and ASK lots of questions *groan*

There are people from 220 different countries in our faculty

ComSoc is the 3rd largest society on campus and they are going to hunt you down and find you.

You missed free stuff.

Thats about it.

I reckon the groups should've been bigger - would've been able to meet more people. :) Like... 10-15 a group would've been good.

Everyone was so slack... I couldn't help but laugh at the video, but when I found out he was actually there listening to us laugh at him it felt terrible... and even -then- people -still- laughed when he started talking!
