Factorisation over the Complex Field (1 Viewer)

Hi,

So basically my teacher didn't teach us how to factorise over the complex field and I don't understand my textbooks explanation at all, so I was wondering if someone could please explain step by step how to factorise over the complex field, for questions like 'Factorise z^5-1' and 'Factorise z^6+1'?

Here's a guided sample solution to solving, factorising (both in the real and complex fields) of z^5-1=0. This method is the same as the textbooks. (Sidenote: different schools use different methods; this one is the most common.) If you have any questions on what I did feel free to ask
