Hi, just wondering, does Julius Caesar's role in the fall of the roman republic overlap w/ the stuff taught in the Ancient History syllabus for Caesar(personality) and fall of roman republic (preiod)?

and if it does, ill have to choose between:
- factors contributing to the fall of the roman empire
-impact of marxism on society

and extra backup: marie antoinette.

which do u think is better to do?

Hey, Caesar sort of does overlap with anc. history, so its safer to pick another topic. But anyways, it doesn't matter what topic u pick- as long as u have good historians for the topic. There is seriously no point in picking an interesting topic which has limited information...you'll be stressing in the end.
Just to let u know, a LOT of ppl do Marie Antoinette.

Yes, Caesar does overlap, as does the Fall of the Republic (which was in this year's HSC paper.

If you're interested in Marxism and Ancient History, have a read about the revolt of Spartacus, there are definately some communist overtones there (although it's an anachronism).

I agree that Marie Ant. is popular, but it depends on whether other students at your school have studied her/are studying her.
