hey braindrained ash i don't understand...what do your marks have to do with the girl that got 49?

Because I was rank 1, my internal assessment mark was 49. My major work mark was depressingly 37, so the average of the two was 43.

braindrainedash 43 is really not bad at all! nothing really wrong with that!
i know though that it is really discouraging when what you hopedfor is a long way from what you get. The problem is that in 4unit english the marking can be so subjective that its hard to predict at all - that's what i felt - it seemed like everything depended on what they were looking for this year.

yeah braindrainedash, if you're brave enough to let yr creative work bear the scrutiny of a group of people who attempt to give something that close to you a cold hard numerical value, well done. i don't think you should feel too bad at all.

superboobies makes a good point about numerical values.

43 is not a bad mark, because I know others from my own school who have had marks in the 20s!

Don't feel bad about it, I know you tried your best at it and had a really good assessment mark, but your other subjects more than made up for it, in my opinion.

Things could be alot better as usual.. haha! But I'm quite happy.. whee!

hav a geez... its pretty complicated - id describe it as a non-linear hypertext alternate history narrative.

Nope... my english teacher said a collegue of his in sydney said that they really marked poetry ultra hard this year... did anyone else doing poetry find this to be the case?

i'm feeling pretty cut...i got 32 for my external, 41 for assessment bringing it to a hsc mark of 39...lets just say there were tears.

and like you, ash, it seems way out from the rest of my class, who got mid to high 40's...
