Does every exam script/paper that is set need to have a written accompanying exam marking guideline/criteria ? i.e. the examiner can't mark "willy nilly" a final paper............they need to have some guideline to refer to ?

I thought it was the case that all final papers are stored somewhere....and so are the exam marking criteria / solutions....for future reference?

Anyone know about this , or how to find out ?

Marking criteria act as a guide, so I dont think it could be willy nilly. However, it can be subjective depending on the issues/topics.

I think they are available for a period of time. You need to contact the course convenor though.

In LAW, marking criteria is rather generic so they wont change too much other than the identification of issues; so I expect most courses would be similiar.
