That seems pretty basic for an Extension class. It's a book for primary school kids.

In the first term we did the Roles of Women and we read the book Mrs. Dalloway and did a film study The Hours (such a clever movie!). This term we're doing gothic literature. We're reading Dracula. One more chapter to go and I'll be finished!! Woohhooo! We've read the House of Usher by Poe and a few other gothic short stories.

ghasfura, yeah 1984 is fantastic, I now I'm only in yr 10 but I've read it and it is one of the best books I've ever read. You should give it go, it's great.

In year ten I studied an essay of his. A Modest Proposal. I loved it! It's quite clever too. 1984 is next on my list! =D

short stories. bludgiest subject and area of study ever, because the teacher doesn't know how to teach us to write properly. thus our education is reduced to summarizing short stories :)

we're studying modernism. specifically, short stories. we've completed five essays on five short stories. i am not entirely certain what our AOS is however.

biding my time until we get the opportunity to study plath, woolf or capote.

In year 11 I did Revenge Tragedy, which was very good. Ancient Greek plays full of blood and gore.

We did:
The Revenger's Tragedy- Thomas Middleton
Medea- Euripides

and for my found texts I used:
The Brave One (film)
Darkly Dreaming Dexter- Jeff Lindsay
