Hi there,

I'm about to apply for a mid-year entry to the flexible first year engineering at UNSW.

Just a quick question- Will I commence the degree with semester 2 subjects and completely skip semester 1 if I get the mid-year entry?
Oh and I got a UAI of 92 last year. Will that be enough to ensure a place? I'd really like to discontinue the degre I'm currently enrolled in asap. I have a really good academic transcript (straight HD's) but none of the subjects would be related to engineering so I don't see if there's any point finishing the semester. If I do discontinue, it wont affect my chances of admission to UNSW will it? I wont have even completed a semester.

Yes UNSW does apparently have mid-year entry plans.
e.g. The Mechanical Engineering degree does have a sample plan for mid-year entry and you can complete but you will need to complete courses that are offered in summer to progress in minimum time even though you have 5 years to complete it (i.e. the extra semester in your fifth year due to mid year entry)
