Emphasis via. Colourisation (1 Viewer)

It has always been a habit of mine to a black pen, with red highlights to emphasise certain words.

For example:

A [red]metaphor[/red] for physical journey.

I only use it 3 or 4 times throughout an essay, so the time "wasted" is a non issue. I was wondering whether it was acceptable for a HSC essay to have a visual aspect, or if it was of any benefit if it helps convey meaning. My teacher has never commented on it either way, and I forgot to ask.

My friend did something similar and highlighted it
teacher said don't do it in the HSC.
theres no need.
its not legal studies.
If your content is good, it will stand out without you trying to
