yea there are many different factors that make people choose one over the other... maybe you have friends at uts, maybe there is a particular course (like forensics science, where uts is apparently the only uni to offer in australia) that you want to study at uts, maybe you just don't like the enviornment of usyd. prefering one uni over another just because of academic prestige is a very narrow-minded view to understand why someone would pick a particular place to study.
i think coolcat once said that they cannot understand why someone would go to a competitive school... lowk its also about the academic prestige, so that's just a contradiction of what you are saying here lol

I got into WSU (I know I know calm down) for cybersec, but it's just an option at the moment. I have applied for UNSW gateway round 2, but results come out 3rd of december.

WSU doesn't even care what ATAR I get, it is just conditional that I do the HSC.

Facts, it's only accurate if your school has consistent academic results. If not, it's a complete guess.

If I'm being honest, I think some teachers want to increase our assessment mark as much as possible because they know we most likely won't do well in the HSC. Others want to prepare us better by marking harshly. Either way, they try to help.

What they should do is give us a real marks which aren’t so great and then give us a fake inflated report which they use for early entry lol. that way it will prepare us for the hsc and also increase our chances for early entry
