I liked Dune....Duncan Idaho was probably my favourite character....or Thufir Hawat....

Has anyone read some of the later books? I'm pretty sure I've read Children of Dune and God-Emperor of Dune..Messiah of Dune....maybe Heretics....I should probably re-read them, but I'm not such a fan of the later books

does anyone think the whole prequel thing is being taken too far?

The language is pretty convoluted and antiquated at times but it's a very clever work

i agree it a bit sad the old movie ... but the ummm new mini series (the sci-fi network one) is quite the good

yes ive read Messiah and the whole Legends of Due stuff (which i read before the originals - which im still gettin through, it was quite good thought!)
