no, time management is the key and if u can organise yourself it will actually benefit you in the end
not only will you have money, but you wont be so absorbed by school work.. need a healthy balance between school and social time

Depends how much time, and what kind of work. Personally, I say screw it. I don't need the money that badly :p

what subject is this for?
it also depends how much you work.. u have to define what it is
like 5-10 hours is reasonable.. 20+ is kinda screwed and if u cant do ur homework/study on a regular basis then it will affect you

I think it depends from person to person...i mean some people are good at managing work and HSC at the same time, while others don't feel comfortable with it.

me personally, if i worked then i would porably get nowhere with my school work. if i did work, i'd work at my parents shop and its always busy and is fairly far to travel to. it depends on what kind of job you take too. If its tutoring little kids, then it may help you. working in a clothes shop is alot less stressful than working in macdonalds.some people take work as a time out or break from their studies. i mean, if you can balance a job and homework out, then i'd say go for it ;)

I worked during my HSC year and I found that it kept me sane, cause it was something totally unrelated to the HSC and it gave me a break from doing school work all the time. My UAI was much better than I expected in the end, so it didn't effect my results.

working makes me manage my time more effectively, if i wasnt working i would be staying at home watching tv or out in the city spending and wasting money =(

just don't overwork.

like doing fulltime uni + fulltime work is over doing it.

15+hrs of uni and 40+hrs of work is insane

i think the result for poor HSC results is from pure envrionment distractions and procrastination, and all this technology, if the internet did not exist i'm sure academically most students will do better too.
