Yes. Nobody is going to marry you coz you did Standard English and you'll be forced to masquerade as a teacher and scab food from school canteens in order to eat for cheap.
On a serious note, it's possible to get an exceptional UAI no matter what subjects you do and put you on the path for a great career. I know people who get Band 4 in Standard English and still get UAIs in the 96, 97 range.
Furthermore, employers aren't going to care what HSC subjects you do. Results in tertiary education are important, not what level of English you do in the HSC.

Some courses require adv english I think... but very few.
dont listen to those guys that agrees with you. there are lots of jobs/courses that requires min of std eng but instead a really good math result anyways but if u dont try then U WILL FAIL and screw up ur life, ur hsc anyways.

and my marks are great i was asked to go into advanced english
but i declined because i don't need it for my future career
and i didn't need the added stress because i was already doing 2 major works
so kid get a grip and take a fucking chill pill
and preferably try and overdose on those pills

Even if you get 40 uai your life is not 'screwed' there is still many possibilities to living a life that is not screwed. Screwed is when you fuck up all opportunities for yourself like doing drugs and shit.
Getting a 80% in Standard Eng is quite a achievement in my opinion and
there is A LOT of people in the state who do Standard English..
