Someone brought this to my attention in another thread
Do solitary quarks exist?

I thought the whole point was that we dont have strong enough particle accelerators to split them up

does anyone know which arguement is true?

Currently no solitary quark has ever been found although there are good theoretical reasons for believing they exist which I won't go in to here.
