I can't get myself around to understanding the definition of Inner Journeys.

I understand that inner journeys is about characters going on a journey about themselves and grow and develop. And they find an identity.

But I can't understand how texts such as
Superman - Five For Fighting (Song) can be classfied one
And have trouble after watching Rabbit Proof Fence twice to convince myself it's an inner journey rather than a physical journey.

Can anyone explain?

Well, I personally think Rabbit Proof fence is a bit of a dud text - after all, it's on the prescribed list for physical journeys...

The syllabus has a particular definition of "Inner Journey" but really all you do is look at how the characters change mentally/psychologically/emotionally.

did that help?

Nah here's better - Adv Eng forum is for modules :D

Here are some other suggestions:

Girl Interrupted
"But I still haven't found what I'm looking for" - U2
A Bug's life (apparently it works? Any movie works)
Shrek!!!
The Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Pretty much every single Disney movie ever invented...
Stuart Little
Oranges are Not the Only Fruit - Jeanette Winterson
Side Show - Sherri S. Temper
Looking for Alibrandi - Marlina Marchetta
Queen Kat, St Jude and Carmel Get a Life - forgotten but excellent book
When you Wake Up and Find me Gone - same person as above

Inner Journey can be applied to pretty much anything that has a "change of heart" or something like that :D

Sure why not? So long as you can link it to inner journeys - which pretty much everything can I guess - then go ahead!

Peter Pan is the best.

Where the character resists to go on an inner journey.

Use it use it use it.

With your poster, talk about how the techniques shape the concept of inner journey (Did that sound like gibberish to you).

Just say what the methods used are (eg big closeups)
then say the effect on the audience/reader (eg. invites the reader to feel the emotion of the protagonist).
then say how it fits in with your definition (eg. as the reader feels the emotion, the reader sense it's a journey of self discovery).

AND REMEMBER U CAN BS IN ENGLISH. AS LONG AS YOU CAN MANIPULATIVE THE TECHNIQUES AND FIT IT IN.

ok study hard person aren't u the one meant to be telling us since you study so HARD. jkssss hahahahah

Well matey you can describe the process of what your doing as a cross between a bok choy and a dim sim.

Well bok choy is one vegetable, while dim sim may can contain a range of vegetables and pi unless you buy them from the frozen section of the supermarket where they only contain one thing, flour.

So you can talk about how bok choy and dim sim shape different tastes.

Well it's the same with inner journeys. How texts are different and shape different meaning. But wiuth our case, how it shapes inner journeys.

Well Mr Wise guy.

let's discuss inner journeys. Ok mate.

Now if ya w're drivin' don th'ute mate and h't 'ne'f em' cr'cks and yellow CRIKEY. Then went to tell your story. That would be an inner journey. Just like forest.

Study hard dude think about it and then think about how you can fly.

Mr Dabliolamiold person. Do lam's go on inner journeys is that restricted to Rams.

wTh?
anyways inner joruney is (IMO) based on 3 stages:

- awareness (of oneself on the IJ)
- psychoanalysis (why are you here)
- intent (what are you to gain for mthis exp)

HOWEVER i also think that you have to point out IJ is an internal concpet that is quite hard to explain to others becuase of the raw feelings within ones self...blah blah blah..ie not easliy understood by others...eg. orgasms...understood but cant b explained or maths explained but not understood :p

- ooh Simpsons!
