Im currently deciding between Usyd and UNsw for b commerce/ b engineering.

I understand that the commerce and engineering faculties are better at unsw however this carries some cons.

-Distance: Usyd takes 40 minutes to get there while unsw takes 1 hour minimum
-Course time: Usyd degree is only for 5 years while Unsw is 5.5 years
-Social: I enjoy the 'look' on unsw and its modern facilities
-Academics: For some reason i think usyd has a more studeous atmosphere, while unsw is more carefree and relaxed. I prefer unsw in this aspect

In general im deciding between, a greater travel time (extra 40 mins travel/day for 5.5 years) for a possibly better education, to a uni with less travel time, but with a studeous atmoshpere and convenience.

Don't choose any uni just because of its 'look'. After a while you cease to give a shit.

A uni's atmosphere is whatever you want it to be depending on the crowd you hang out with. I'm at usyd and chilled as fuck when it comes to studying.

Undergrad doesn't really matter any way. Suit yourself.

Its easy for people to say that usyd is better becuase of travel time. But UNSW engineering faculty is far better. Is it worth the distance thou...

sounds like youre leaning towards unsw tbh. just go to unsw, if that's what uni you want to go to. really an extra 20 minutes isn't really going to make much of a difference especially when its the difference between 40 min and an hr. once you get into a routine of taking the train down (give it a week or two) it's not going to make much difference. 40 minutes, an hr either way its a bitch.

yup, trust me you'll get used to however long it takes you to get to uni very quickly. no matter how long that is. so just go to whichever uni you want, don't take travel time into consideration.

not really

because its undergraduate, maybe if you were choosing between Oxon or Harvard it would actually matter,
